B for Bad?
Why name a game studio after a genre of bad movies?

Aren’t B movies low-budget, poor-quality films that are typically just bad? Well, yes… But in the Golden Age of Hollywood, B movies were a place where filmmakers could bring their dreams to life without the constraints of high-budget, top-billed features. A director could make a B movie on a shoestring budget, with only 6 days to film and copious amounts of stock footage. Decades later, their work is hailed as cult classics, sci-fi and monster movies that are “so bad, they’re good!”
So why name a game company after a genre of movies known for poor practical effects and formulaic plots? Because the people who made B movies didn’t need the full budget of a big film studio behind them. They didn’t need top billing and A-list actors to make their vision a reality. They worked with what they had, put their nose to the grindstone, and made magic. I strive to emulate their dedication to their art, making the best games I can. Plus, I’m a sucker for retro sci-fi and classic black-and-white movies.
